What is What’s Cookin’?

“What’s Cookin’?” is part virtual cooking competition, part fundraiser for Growing Home. Participants will sign up in a specific division and category by making a fundraising page, make a dish of their choosing, post pictures/videos of them making their dish to their fundraising page, then encourage their friends and family to vote for their creation by making a donation.  More info can be found at https://growinghome.org/whats-cookin/.

When is What’s Cookin’?

• Chefs/competitors can start creating their pages now, and we want all chefs to have their pages up no later than April 22^nd
• April 25^th – May 8^th: Active Promotion of Pages and Fundraising
• May 10^th 4:30pm: Concluding Celebratory Event via Zoom

How Can I Help?

• Sign up to be a chef/competitor yourself to raise awareness of and funds for Growing Home!  More details at https://growinghome.org/whats-cookin/.
• Please help spread the word by encouraging folks to sign up to be chefs/competitors.  To do so:
  1. Please ensure you are following our Growing Home social media outlets (see links in my signature below) and “like” and “share” the content with your network with a customized message about why Growing Home is important to you.
  2. Use some of the attached materials to spread the word.  Here’s a brief description of the items:

• Accept The Challenge: This flyer can be forwarded via email, printed out and posted anywhere that will allow it, or even posted to your social media.
• Invitation to become a chef: This document contains information about What’s Cookin’?, Growing Home, and how people can be involved. Along with the flyer, this information could be used to give people more information on the event. As always, feel free to edit it down and/or add your own spin and personalized message to your contacts.
• What’s Cookin’ Start Cooking and Compete: As a follow-up to the Accept the Challenge flyer, this flyer could be sent out as a reminder to your network to sign up and to give a high level view of the competition details.
